Moka Pot makes rich, espresso-style coffee on the stovetop. Use fine grind, medium heat. Scaled for 6-cup pot.

Recipe:

20-22g coffee (fine, slightly coarser than espresso), 345g water. Brew 3-6 min.

  1. Grind coffee:

Fine (larger than espresso powder, finer than pour-over). Measure 20-22g.

  2. Fill bottom:

Hot water to safety valve level (~345g). Insert funnel. No water in funnel.

  3. Add coffee:

Fill funnel with grounds. Level flat, clean rim. Don't tamp.

  4. Assemble:

    Screw top tightly.

  5. Heat:

Medium-low stovetop. Gas flame no bigger than base.

  6. Brew:

Listen for gurgle/hiss. Remove from heat immediately when chamber fills.

  7. Serve:

Pour carefully (use potholder). Drink black or with small milk.

Care:

  • Cool completely. Disassemble. Rinse parts with hot water only, no soap.

  • Season new pot: Brew 2-3 cycles before drinking.

Notes:

  • Start with hot water to reduce extraction time.

  • Low heat prevents bitterness.

  • Fine grind but not too fine (avoids clogging).

Adjust ratios and timing to match your coffee and taste.
