Drip (pour-over) makes a clean, bright cup. Works with any size dripper. A coarse grind highlights the origin's flavours.

Recipe:

  • 6 g of coffee per 100 ml of water (adjust to taste). Water at 92-96°C. Total brew time: ~2:30-3:00 min.

Best coffee:

  • Light-roast single-origin with fruity or floral notes. Central/South America or Africa work well.

Recipe:

  1. Prepare the dripper:

Place the filter in the dripper over a cup. Pour hot water to rinse the filter and preheat. Discard the water.

  2. Add the coffee:

Measure the coffee. Grind coarse (like sand).

  3. Add it to the filter.

    Level it evenly.

  4. Bloom: Zero out the scale, start the timer.

Pour ~1x the weight of the coffee from the centre outward to wet it all.

  5. Main pour:

At 0:30, pour the rest of the water in a steady spiral. Avoid the filter walls. Keep a consistent water level.

  6. Finish:

Finish pouring at 2:30-3:00. Let it drain completely.

  7. Serve:

    Remove the filter. Serve immediately.

Notes:

  • Coarse grind prevents bitterness.

  • A fine-spout kettle helps control the pour.

  • Dripper material (plastic, ceramic, glass) barely affects flavour. Match the size to your batch.

Adjust ratios and timing to suit your coffee and taste.
